THE PROBLEM
Fifty years after Microsoft reshaped the industry, AI is reshaping it again, this time by threatening the very way we code. In fact, 71% of developers fear being replaced and forgotten.
THE IDEA
To counter that fear, we needed to show that Microsoft is the future for developers, where AI is not a rival but a partner that makes them better at what they do. To prove it, we asked them to step back into Microsoft’s early days—so they could see just how bright the future can be.
THE EXECUTION
We created an authentic, memorable experience dropped straight out of the 70s, complete with period furniture, lava lamp, advertisements, ASCII UI and Altair 8800 reproductions powered by modern tech, including Microsoft Copilot and Azure. From start to finish, we blended old-school and new school tech.
